We are building Exportlab, a modern photo and video SaaS platform for photographers, videographers, agencies, and creative teams.
The platform connects galleries, video reviews, guest uploads, client portals, asset collections, public profiles, team communication, analytics, contracts, model releases, AI search, face recognition, downloads, and media delivery in one multi-tenant system.
We are looking for a Full-Stack Platform Engineer who does more than ship features, someone who thinks across product, frontend, backend, cloud, media pipelines, and system stability.
Your role
You work directly on the core of Exportlab: user interfaces, auth flows, upload paths, video workflows, real-time features, billing, AI indexing, serverless backends, and deployment processes.
You are a strong fit if you like working full-stack and want to understand how a SaaS system really behaves in production: data models, queues, tenant isolation, security, limits, observability, deployments, and reliability.
Your work
Frontend & Product
- You build modern React UIs with TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, and Framer Motion.
- You work on galleries, media management, video review with timeline feedback, the Client Portal, guest uploads, asset collections, and public profiles.
- You build team chat, real-time updates, billing, settings, dashboards, and drag-and-drop flows.
- You develop responsive, dark-mode-native interfaces.
- You do not build generic admin panels, you build real workflows for creatives and their clients.
Backend & Serverless
- You build and operate AWS serverless systems with Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SES, Cognito, CloudFront, and WebSockets.
- You work on REST and WebSocket APIs, multi-tenant architecture, and tenant routing through subdomains.
- You build Cognito/OIDC/auth flows, session, JWT, and cookie handling.
- You model DynamoDB with GSIs, TTLs, conditional writes, and streams.
- You build SQS-based background jobs, upload, download, and ZIP queues, plus SES-based email flows.
- You integrate Stripe Checkout, subscriptions, webhooks, and token purchases.
- You build usage and plan limits without race conditions.
Media, AI & Delivery
- Exportlab is heavily media-oriented. You work on systems for uploading, processing, analyzing, and delivering photos and videos.
- You build S3 upload flows with presigned URLs, CloudFront delivery, and signed media URLs.
- You work on FFmpeg and HLS workflows, video thumbnails, and preview generation.
- You build image and metadata indexing.
- You integrate Amazon Rekognition for face recognition, label detection, and OCR.
- You work with OpenAI/Vision integrations for automated image analysis.
- You build AI-assisted search, tags, captions, and filters.
Platform, Infrastructure & Reliability
- You help evolve the technical platform in a clean, secure, and reliable way.
- You work with dev / staging / production environments, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Lambda versioning, and aliases.
- You handle secure environment configuration, smoke tests, and rollback capability.
- You work with CloudWatch, Sentry, logs, metrics, and alerts.
- You think through IAM least privilege, secrets management, KMS, audit logs, and API key systems.
- Over time, you help move more infrastructure into Terraform or CDK.
What you should bring
You do not need to know every single tool perfectly. What matters is that you can understand complex systems and want to go deep.
- Strong experience with React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architecture
- Strong Node.js experience
- Experience with AWS or comparable cloud systems
- Understanding of APIs, auth, security, and SaaS architecture
- Experience with data models, ideally DynamoDB or NoSQL
- Understanding of asynchronous systems: queues, events, retries, idempotency
- Clear thinking around failure cases, limits, and race conditions
- Interest in a real product with many connected systems
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SES, Cognito, or CloudFront
- Experience with FFmpeg, HLS, or video encoding
- Experience with WebSockets and real-time systems
